Here are some photos of us in Germany and one of us in a bar in Leeds. I loved the electricity pylons and the wind turbines. There’s a photo of my feet on the backstage carpet as we wait to play in Berlin. One of Robin dangling from a hammock in the amazing venue in Greifswald – mattresses everywhere and a boating scaffold brought in especially for the gig. Then a photo of us playing at the Greifswald venue. The final three photos are of a tree in Strasbourg, Munich architecture and a street lamp in Berlin. Germany is pretty wonderful!

Switzerland!
Here is a new video from a house concert we played in St Gallen, Switzerland. One woman said it was the best gig she’s ever attended. Bless!
England!
Here are some photos of our journey through Ilkley Moor (rocks, forest, Penelope in foliage, and a waterfall), Leeds and Kirbymoorside (Robin on hay bales and the wonderful house we stayed in). In one photo, you can just make out our first sighting of a murmuration of starlings (!) with a hazy sun half heartedly shining through the expanse of clouds in the background. Murmurations of starlings are one of the natural wonders New Zealand misses out on (in my humble opinion).
Europe!!!
Europe!!!!!
It’s time! We’re heading to Europe on Monday with French for Rabbits for 2 months! Here are the confirmed shows for French for Rabbits which we’re providing support for at most shows, so if you want to invite people, we’d be most grateful:

European Tour and Fundraising Gig.
Well there is a lot of news for this post. We’re leaving for Europe in 2 weeks!! Grawlixes are touring with French for Rabbits. But as some members of French for Rabbits couldn’t make the tour, Robin will be filling the gap playing electric guitar with Penelope on bass and backing vocals.
We’re having a fundraising gig at Taste Merchants on Sunday the 6th of September, which you should totally come to (see the poster below). It starts at the reasonable time of 7pm. Grawlixes will play first, then the wonderful (recent Silver Scroll nominee) Nadia Reid, followed by French for Rabbits (with Penelope on bass and Robin on electric guitar). It may be the one and only opportunity to see Penelope play bass in Dunedin.
In other news, we’re just finishing off the last of the backing vocals for our album. We’ll be back from Europe in November. So the album should released in early 2016. Hooray!
Grawlixes are supporting Nadia Reid this Saturday, 13th December, at Taste Merchants
Hello everyone!! And welcome to the Grawlixes website. We are an indie-pop band from Dunedin, New Zealand. Our members are Robin Cederman (guitar & vocals) and Penelope Esplin (accordion & vocals). This is our first website and it’s still the teething stages, so you may have to bear with us until we get it up to scratch.
We have just come back from a few tour dates with the amazing French for Rabbits. We played at the Opera House in Oamaru on the 4th of December and at The Darkroom in Christchurch on the 5th of December. Turns out French for Rabbits are not only great songwriters, but are absolutely lovely people. It was such an honour to join them on their nationwide tour. If you want to learn more about them (perhaps hear their music or even buy something), you can do so here: http://frenchforrabbits.com/french-for-rabbits
In other amazing news, we’re supporting the wonderful Nadia Reid this Saturday, 13th of December, at Taste Merchants in Dunedin. She is giving Dunedin audiences a preview of her upcoming album, so you should come along! Her music is very beautiful. I’ve never had the privilege of seeing Nadia in a performance setting (this is Penelope speaking), but Robin assures me I will be blown away. Every single person I have spoken to about Nadia sings her praises, so I’m very much looking forward to the gig. If you want to buy advanced tickets, you can do so here: http://www.undertheradar.co.nz/gig/42317/Nadia-Reid-Album-Preview-.utr
Hope to see you there!!
