Our upcoming album is called ‘Love You To Death’, and is due out via Home Alone Records on July 15th.
‘Honey Bees’ was written many years ago by band member Robin shortly after finishing his Zoology studies in the early 2010s. Many of Grawlixes sophomore album songs were written during that time and bear the mark of an animal-obsessed mind (Honey Bees, Python, Creature of Habit). ‘Honey Bees’ is about how the burdens of the past can be lifted if we are brave enough to reveal ourselves to the world. And how we should pay more attention to bees, especially if we want to learn from their ancient wisdom.
Undertheradar commented “The song showcases Grawlixes ability to bring sadness to their sprightly melodies, and delivers the melancholic vibes and self deprecating honesty fans have come to expect from the band. “

The accompanying video, produced by Wellington film company Sonder, tells a story of an emotionally and literally defensive knight who is scared to go outside or even answer the door. But the call of nature, the garden and a friendly honey bee draws the knight out of her isolated existence.
